  3. *  To Patrick J. Naughton (naughton@wind.sun.com) for writing 'gif2ras.c', a 
  4. program that converts GIF files to Sun Rasterfiles.  This program was the 
  5. basis of the original xgif, and as such, could be said to have 'started it all'
  6.  
  7. This same code remains mostly unchanged in 'xvgif.c'.
  8.  
  9. *  To Michael Maudlin (mlm@cs.cmu.edu) for writing a short, READABLE version
  10. of the 'gif writing' code, which I've modified to a small degree.  This code
  11. became 'xvgifwr.c'.
  12.  
  13. *  To Jef Poskanzer (jef@well.sf.ca.us) for coming up with cool-whizo 
  14. 'general' formats (pbm, pgm, ppm) and for having a large collection of X11
  15. bitmap files (providing the impetus for reading/writing THAT format).
  16.  
  17. *  To Steve Swales (steve@bat.lle.rochester.edu) for telling me about the
  18. GIF aspect ratio extension.
  19.  
  20. And, most importantly, to John Dotts Hagan (hagan@dccs.upenn.edu) whose 
  21. continued harrassment has proved invaluable.  Suffice it to say that XV 
  22. probably wouldn't have been written were it not for all the abuse he gave me
  23. about the shortcomings of 'xgif'.
